Job Description:
Purchasing Assistant is responsible for monitoring stock levels, researching potential vendors, tracking orders, and updating order records. Junior accountants are professionals who are in charge of posting journal entries, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accounts, receivables, or payables. They also administer monthly payroll for their company’s employees while preparing reports on the progress made throughout each month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to ensure availability of materials.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers for quality, pricing, and delivery reliability.
- Track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any order issues or delays.
- Update and maintain accurate purchase records and databases.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and priorities.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies.
- Support inventory audits and help reconcile discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in software like Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting is a must.
- Effective written and verbal communication is vital for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- The ability to negotiate favorable terms and prices from suppliers is a key skill.
- Essential for managing multiple tasks, prioritizing activities, and adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Accountant skills include technical abilities like accounting software proficiency (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks), Microsoft Excel expertise, knowledge of financial principles and tax regulations, and experience with tasks like bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
